If you enable both analytics AND location tracking:

- **Approximate Location**: Your location rounded to approximately 10 kilometers for privacy

- This data is used only for aggregated usage statistics (e.g., "Emoji used in this region")

- **We do NOT collect precise location data**

Information We Never Collect

We want to be clear about what we **DO NOT** collect:

- ❌ **Your Messages**: We never access, read, or store anything you type

- ❌ **Personal Information**: No names, emails, phone numbers, or identifiable information

- ❌ **Device Identifiers**: No device IDs, advertising IDs, or hardware identifiers

- ❌ **Contacts or Photos**: No access to your contacts, photos, or other personal data

- ❌ **Keyboard Input**: We do not track what you type in other apps

How We Use Information

Local Storage Only

All analytics data is stored **locally on your device** using iOS App Groups. This allows the keyboard extension and main app to share usage statistics for the "frequently used" feature.

 

Optional Data Sharing

If you choose to share your usage data with us (via the "Share My Usage" feature):

- You can review exactly what will be shared before sending

- Sharing is completely optional and only happens when you explicitly tap "Share"

- Shared data helps us understand which emoji designs are popular

- We use this information to create more emoji you'll love

How We Protect Your Information

- **Local Storage**: All data stays on your device unless you choose to share it

- **No Cloud Sync**: We don't sync your data to any servers automatically

- **Privacy-First Design**: Analytics disabled by default; you must opt-in

- **Approximate Location Only**: If enabled, location is rounded for privacy

In Settings, You Can:

2. Tap the gear icon (⚙️) in the top-right corner

3. Adjust your privacy preferences

Keyboard Permissions

Permissions We Request:

- **Full Access**: Emodji Keyboard requires request Full Access permission to function correctly (paste function)

- **Pasteboard Access**: Used only to copy emoji images you select to paste in other apps

What This Means:

- We cannot access the internet from the keyboard extension

- Emoji images are copied locally to your device's clipboard

Children's Privacy

Emodji Keyboard does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed to be privacy-safe for users of all ages.

Data Retention

- **Local Data**: Retained on your device until you delete the app or clear data in Settings

- **Shared Data**: If you choose to share usage data, we retain it for analysis purposes only

- **No Account Required**: Since there are no accounts, there's no profile data to retain

Emodji Keyboard stores all data locally on your device. If you choose to share usage data with us, that data is transmitted to and stored on servers in the United States.
