🚀 Getting Started
How do I enable the Emodji Keyboard?
After installing the app, you need to enable the keyboard in your iPhone settings:
1. Open **Settings** on your iPhone
2. Scroll down and tap **General**
3. Tap **Keyboard**
4. Tap **Keyboards**
5. Tap **Add New Keyboard...**
6. Under "Third-Party Keyboards," select **Emodji Keyboard**
7. Done! The keyboard is now ready to use

How do I use the Emodji Keyboard in apps?
Once enabled, you can switch to Emodji Keyboard in any app:
1. Tap any text field (Messages, Notes, social media, etc.)
2. Tap and hold the **🌐 Globe icon** on your keyboard
3. Select **Emodji Keyboard** from the menu
4. **OR** tap the Globe icon repeatedly until Emodji Keyboard appears
**Quick Tip:** The Globe icon is usually located in the bottom-left corner of your keyboard, next to the space bar.
How do I send an Emodji?
1. Open the Emodji Keyboard in any app
2. Browse through the categories at the top (Roundel, Records, Scooters, etc.)
3. Tap any Emodji to copy it to your clipboard
4. Tap and hold in your message field
5. Select **Paste** from the menu
6. Send your message! 🎉
**Note:** Emodji are high-quality images, so they paste as pictures, not text emojis.

What are the different categories?
Emodji Keyboard includes six unique design categories:
- **🎯 Roundel** - Classic circular designs inspired by British Mod culture
- **💿 Records** - Vinyl record-inspired designs for music lovers
- **🛵 Scooters** - Iconic scooter designs from Mod history
- **🕺🏼 Threads** - Fashion and style-focused designs
- **⚙️ Gear** - Mechanical and industrial-inspired artwork
- **👁️🗨️ Pop** - Colorful Pop Art designs
How do I see my frequently used Emodji?
The "Frequently Used" category automatically tracks your favorite Emodji:
1. Open the Emodji Keyboard
2. The first category shows your most-used Emodji
3. This updates automatically as you use the keyboard
**Privacy Note:** This feature requires enabling analytics in the main app settings. If analytics are disabled, you'll see default Emodji instead.
What's the Info Guide?
Each Emodji has a story! Tap the **ⓘ Info button** at the top of the keyboard to learn:
- The inspiration behind each design
- Historical context and cultural references
- Links to learn more about the subject
- Design details from our artists
How do I customize skin tones?
Some Emodji feature human figures with customizable skin tones:
1. Open the **main Emodji Keyboard app**
2. Tap the **⚙️ Settings icon** (top-right)
3. Tap **Skin Tone Preferences**
4. Choose your preferred default skin tone
5. Preview how it will look
Your selection applies to all Emodji with skin tone variations!
Can I use animated Emodji?
Yes! Many Emodji have animated (GIF) versions:
1. Tap and hold an Emodji in the keyboard
2. If available, you'll see an option for **Animated** or **Static**
3. Select your preferred version
4. The animated version will be copied to your clipboard
**Note:** Some apps may not support animated GIFs. In those cases, use the static version.
⚙️ Settings & Privacy
Where are the app settings?
Settings are in the **main Emodji Keyboard app** (not the keyboard itself):
1. Open the **Emodji Keyboard app** from your home screen
2. Tap the **⚙️ gear icon** in the top-right corner
3. Adjust your preferences
Available settings:
- Analytics (opt-in)
- Location tracking (opt-in)
- Skin tone preferences
- View usage statistics
- Clear all data
What data does the app collect?
**By default: NOTHING!**
Emodji Keyboard is privacy-first:
- ❌ We never see what you type
- ❌ We never access your messages
- ❌ No tracking or third-party analytics
- ✅ All data collection is **opt-in** through Settings
If you choose to enable analytics (Settings → Enable Analytics):
- Which Emodji you use
- When you use them (time of day)
- Info guide interactions
**Optional location tracking** (requires separate opt-in):
- Approximate location only (rounded to ~10km)
- Used for regional usage statistics

Why doesn't the keyboard need "Full Access"?
Due top limitations inherent in IOS, **Full Access** is required for the keyboard to function properly.
- ✅ Messages needs it for the paste function to work!
- ✅ Works completely offline
- ✅ Cannot access the internet from the keyboard
- ✅ Cannot see what you type
- ✅ No network permissions required
This means your conversations stay 100% private!
How do I clear my usage data?
If you enabled analytics and want to clear your data:
1. Open the **Emodji Keyboard app**
2. Tap **Settings** (⚙️)
3. Scroll to **Data Management**
4. Tap **Clear All Data**
5. Confirm
This deletes all locally stored analytics from your device.
🔧 Troubleshooting
The keyboard isn't showing up
**Solution 1: Enable the keyboard**
1. Go to **Settings** → **General** → **Keyboard** → **Keyboards**
2. Make sure **Emodji Keyboard** is in the list
3. If not, tap **Add New Keyboard** and select Emodji Keyboard
**Solution 2: Restart your device**
- Sometimes iOS needs a restart to recognize new keyboards
- Hold Power + Volume Down, then slide to power off
- Turn your device back on
**Solution 3: Remove and re-add the keyboard**
1. Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards
2. Tap **Edit**
3. Remove Emodji Keyboard
4. Tap **Done**
5. Add it back using **Add New Keyboard**
The Emodji won't paste
**Solution 1: Check clipboard**
- After tapping an Emodji, you should see a brief confirmation
- Try pasting immediately after tapping
**Solution 2: Tap and hold to paste**
- In your message field, **tap and hold** (not just tap once)
- Select **Paste** from the menu
**Solution 3: App compatibility**
- Some apps have restrictions on pasting images
- Try in Messages, Notes, or another app to confirm it's working
**Solution 4: Restart the keyboard**
1. Dismiss the keyboard
2. Switch to another app
3. Come back and try again
**Solution 5: Make sure Full Access is turned on **
1. Go to keyboard settings
2. Click EMODJI button
3. Turn-on "Allow Full Access"
The keyboard looks small or weird
**Solution: Adjust your display settings**
1. Settings → Display & Brightness → Display Zoom
2. Try switching between Standard and Zoomed
3. The keyboard automatically adapts to your device size
**For iPad users:**
- The keyboard is optimized for both portrait and landscape
- Try rotating your device for the best experience
Frequently used emojis aren't updating
**This feature requires analytics:**
1. Open the **Emodji Keyboard app**
2. Go to **Settings** (⚙️)
3. Enable **"Enable Analytics"**
4. Use the keyboard for a few days
5. Your frequently used section will update automatically
If analytics are disabled, you'll see default Emodji instead.
The app is in a different language
Emodji Keyboard follows your device language settings:
1. Settings → General → Language & Region
2. Check your iPhone Language
3. Close and reopen the app
Currently supported languages:
- English + UK
- Spanish
- French
- German
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Japanese
- Dutch
- Hebrew
- Vietnamese
– Swedish
Animated Emodji aren't working
**Check app compatibility:**
- Not all apps support animated GIFs
- Try in **Messages** (Apple's Messages app) first
- If it works there, the other app may have restrictions
**Switch to static version:**
- Use the non-animated version for better compatibility
- Tap the Emodji once (don't hold) for the static version

What devices are supported?
- **iPhone:** iPhone 8 and newer
- **iPad:** All iPad models with iOS 15+
- **iOS Version:** iOS 15.0 or later
Does it work with all apps?
Emodji Keyboard works in any app that:
- Accepts keyboard input
- Allows pasting images
**Confirmed working:**
- Messages (iMessage)
- Telegram
- Facebook & Instagram Messenger
- Add Emodji to images in Instagram
- Notes
- Slack
- Discord
**Note:** Some apps may have specific image size limits or restrictions.
💡 Tips & Tricks
Quick Tips for Power Users
1. **Switch keyboards faster:** Tap the 🌐 Globe icon repeatedly to cycle through keyboards quickly
2. **Preview before pasting:** Open the main app to view Emodji on white/black backgrounds before using them
3. **Share with friends:** Long-press any Emodji in the main app to share directly (coming soon!)
4. **Keep frequently used fresh:** Enable analytics to build a personalized collection
5. **Learn the stories:** Use the Info Guide (ⓘ) to discover the inspiration behind each design
Make Emodji Your Default Keyboard
Want Emodji Keyboard to appear first?
1. Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards
2. Tap **Edit**
3. Drag Emodji Keyboard to the top of the list
4. Tap **Done**
Now Emodji Keyboard will be the first one to appear!
